HIGHLAND PARK >> For the first time this year, it was Chambersburg that was on the winning end of a 5-0 girls tennis match on Tuesday afternoon.
The Trojans didn't lose a set the entire day and picked up a Mid Penn Commonwealth Division shutout of Cedar Cliff.
"It was nice for the whole team to get the win," Chambersburg coach Bill Wissinger said.
Cassidi Martin and Taryn Brechbill earned 6-1, 6-4 victories at Nos. 1 and 2, respectively, while Paige Sideras lost only two games at No. 3 singles.
The Trojans (2-5, 2-2 MPC) got a pair of hard-fought wins from their doubles teams. Both won in a tiebreaker in their first set. At No. 1 doubles, Kara Wiley and Emma Guare earned a 7-5 victory in Set 2, while Madison Starliper and Sydney Fischer closed out their No. 2 doubles win, 6-2.
