Central got on the board first with 23:33 to play as Bre Sgrignoli scored off of a Zaria Emswiler assist. Just over 10 minutes later Northern tied it up as Kayla Swope put a shot past Olivia Johnson. Johnson made 14 saves in a losing effort.

Nadia Hamm and Jasmine Bankert scored first-half goals for the Bolts and Mariah Ball added an early second-half goal to push the lead to 3-0. Logan Nelson scored with 33:09 left to play to pull the Eagles within two and Aine Yacapsin's goal with three seconds remaining was the final tally.
